Sports and music comes to the rescue, saving my other half of the brain from extinction.
During my childhood in Australia, I used to play the popular sports in the country. Joined a local Australian Football club, and played cricket. Rugby was a no-no, I was still a kid (not because I'm not muscly enough) ;-)
Snorkeling
Snorkeled (duck dived) in "The Thousand Islands" north of Jakarta, Indonesia
Badminton

The inside of the left shoe wears out, indicating the footwork of a right handed player (me).
When playing doubles, my preferred role is at the backcourt, trying to smash or dropshot. The strategy is 'all out - no mercy' for doubles. As for singles, the kills come from a good netting or drop shot. I tend to do an extreme round-the-head forehand instead of a backhand, which is a strength as well as a weakness. Shot quality is better but with the cost of effort/movement.
Tennis

Tennis shoes are comfy and flat, also perfect for daily use
Responsive play from badminton really helps playing volley shots in tennis. Tennis takes more time to learn than badminton. Required extra practice for backhands (classic for beginners).
Piano

I was on my way to learn classical music (parent's hope when I was a child); I'm now interested in pop and new age music. |
